What will you do that I can’t do myself?
Our photographers have been recruited, trained, and certified by Google as Google Trusted Photographers. With over 25+ years of combined 360 degree photography and traditional photography experience, we have the ability to take our Google Tour Photography to a higher quality level. We are adept at taking exceptional tour photography with the ability and know how to accommodate for common challenges such as extremely low and bright lighting, mixed white balances and tight spaces.
What is the relationship between a Trusted Photographer and Google?
Trusted Photographers are independent contractors/businesses and are not employed by Google, agents of Google or affiliated with Google in any way. Google has certified them because they meet Google’s standards of quality for taking the feature pictures and panoramic pictures, uploading them, moderating them and eventually publishing them on Google properties.
How long will the photo shoot take?
The amount of time required for a photo shoot varies, depending upon the size of a business and the amount of panoramic photography required. In most cases, a photo shoot will take between one and two hours.
What do I need to do to prepare my business ahead of the photo shoot?
Since these photos will be seen by any and all potential customers the old saying “You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression” holds true. We ask that prior to your scheduled photo shoot that you and your staff clean and tidy up things around your business. Keep in mind that our photographer will walk through your place of business shooting photos as if the potential customer is walking through. Items such as overfilled trash cans will not look good so we ask that they all be emptied or even removed if possible in order to help the visual appearance of your business during your photo shoot. Some places of business we’ve photographed have even ordered a bouquet of flowers or something similar to display on the reception desk in order to help appearance. This is not necessary by any means but little things such as that will help your virtual tour.
Which areas of my business will be photographed?
Photo shoots will include the main customer-facing areas of your business. We will work with you to determine what areas of your businesses that you would like to highlight, or even exclude from the shoot. Once again, the goal of the photographs is to show customers what they would expect to see if they visited your business on a normal day.
Will the photo shoot disrupt my business operations?
We will work around your schedule to ensure that photos are taken at a convenient time for you and your business. We do recommend scheduling a photo shoot before business hours which will give you the owner, time the day before to prep and clean your business for the shoot. This time frame will also allow us to photograph your facility prior to your staff and customers begin to arrive. Having a virtual tour of your business in this time frame helps the end product greatly. The shoot will be completed and will not disrupt any of your business operations.
Will people be included in the photo shoot?
Because Google wants to keep the focus of the photos on the inside of your business, we aim to have as few people in the shots as possible. As the business owner it would be your responsibility to notify your employees and customers that the photo shoot is taking place. Having the photo shoot schedule outside of normal business hours will help aide in having the least amount of people in the photos as possible.
What measures are in place to ensure privacy and legal compliance?
Photo shoots will exclude private areas and any areas which you would not like to feature. In addition, our photographers will always alert customers and employees before a photo is taken, to uphold their privacy. All faces that appear in the image will be blurred. In addition, Google may ask the photographer to blur other data (family photographs, computer screens, license plates etc.).
Who from my business can give legal permission for the photo shoot?
You must have the proper authority to allow us access to the business premises to collect photographs and to subsequently allow Google to use those photographs in its products and services. People with this authority include the owner of the business or a director or manager with the designation to make those commitments on behalf of the business. Please note that by agreeing to the terms and conditions and the Google Terms of Service before your photo shoot, you are confirming that you have the authority to make that commitment.
Will Google be using the imagery in other applications besides Google Business pages?
Google may use these images in other products and services in new ways that will make your business information more useful and accessible to users. For example, further integration with Google Maps will allow customers to find these images easily from the 360-degree Street View imagery of nearby roads for many locations.
Do I own the photographs taken by a Trusted Photographer?
Yes, you will own the photos taken by our Trusted Photographers once you have paid for this service and the shoot is completed. Keep in mind that by signing the agreement provided by the Trusted Photographer, you will also license the use of the photos to Google and the Trusted Photographer who will publish the imagery.
Can I review the photos after they are taken, before they go live on Google?
Because of the technology takes individual un-stitched and unreviewed images that need considerable processing after they are uploaded by the photographer, to produce the attractive ‘walk- through’ experience, you will not be able to review the images before they are uploaded to Google. Our Trusted Photographers are highly experienced and we’ve never had any complaints in regards to the photo quality that we’ve produced.
Can I embed these images on my business website and/or Facebook pages?
Yes, to get the most out of the Google Virtual Tour, we encourage you to share the walk-through experience of your business with your customers on your own website and Facebook pages.
Can I have a repeat photo shoot?
Yes, you are welcome to have a repeat shoot as often as you’d like. Many businesses who have recently renovated their interiors or that have seasonal decor, or would like to have the most up to date inventory featured will request a reshoot. We offer discounted pricing for repeat shoots if they happen within one year of the original shoot.
